More details are coming to light regarding Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia’s unexpected breakup.
“[Brianna] was blindsided by Zach being on dating apps and dating around while they had been in a committed relationship,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly. “Someone sent her Zach’s Raya profile and girls were reaching out about him dating around.”
According to the insider, the conversation between Bryan, 28, and LaPaglia, 25, “did not go well” which left the Barstool Sports podcaster “deeply upset.”
“They had just moved in together in the Spring, and she changed her whole life to accommodate his,” the source says. “She’s devastated. He has denied all the allegations but still agreed they should split.”
Bryan and LaPaglia first connected at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards. The pair went public with their romance in July 2023 and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Grammys in February.
Earlier this month, LaPaglia raised eyebrows after she warned others not to date anyone famous during an episode of the “Talk Tuah” podcast.
“Don’t date famous people,” she said during the Tuesday, October 21, appearance. “I think it’s better for the [mind] to not date someone famous. It’s a lot.”
That same day, Bryan confirmed that he and LaPaglia had called it quits.
“Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart. She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her,” the country singer wrote via his Instagram Story. “I’ve had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go out different ways. I am not perfect and never will be.”
Shortly after news broke of their split, LaPaglia released a statement of her own.
“Hey guys I’m feeling really blindsided right now. Gonna hop off social media for a while and attempt to heal privately, when I’m ready I’ll be back and ready to talk,” she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday. “I love you guys so much thank you for all of your kind words. Remember you are so loved and everything’s always gonna be OK.”
Later that day, LaPaglia posted an emotional YouTube video opening up about her heartbreak.
“I’ve been crying for, like, five days straight,” LaPaglia said while her eyes filled up with tears. “I’m at the point where it’s, like, how can you give someone everything and, like, love them so unconditionally through stuff that you shouldn’t?”
LaPaglia said that while she knows she’ll be “OK” in time, she initially wanted “heal privately” before the exes went public with the news.
“I’m just obviously really, really hurt right now,” she added.
