The Valley star Kristen Doute left the Us Weekly and Pluto TV Reality Stars of the Year party early last month — and now we know why.
The star-studded event took place at The Highlight Room in Los Angeles on October 10, and the Us Instagram Story was full of iconic moments from the party. One memorable clip showed Doute, 41, running out of the venue.
“And sometimes you need an Irish exit, #RealityStarOfTheYear honoree @kristendoute knows the vibe,” we captioned the clip at the time.
Following Doute’s pregnancy news on Tuesday, November 26, the Bravo star resurfaced this moment on her own social media.
“@usweekly I’ve been waiting forever to explain this,” she wrote. “I was honored and also SO [vomit emoji] [pregnant woman emoji] [laughing face emoji].”
Doute also linked out to her pregnancy announcement. She and fiancé Luke Broderick announced on Tuesday that they were expecting baby No. 1 after going through intrauterine insemination (IUI).
“After our pregnancy loss last year, we decided to start trying in early 2024,” Doute said in an interview with People. “I knew my age could be a factor in conceiving, so Luke and I discussed going for an extra push, a little help.”
Two weeks after the IUI procedure, Doute received a positive pregnancy test.
“I was relieved, overwhelmed, happy, excited and nervous. The second I told Luke, he wasn’t surprised but was SO happy that IUI worked the first time (we were prepared that it may not),” Doute continued. “He was joyful and beyond excited, to say the least! Our due date is in June, and we are really looking forward to expanding our little family and becoming parents!”
Broderick proposed to Doute in September, one month before she was honored as one of Us’ Reality Stars of the Year. The Bravo star was named as The Encore Performer, telling Us in October about her return to reality TV.
“I’m grateful that the fans of the show and all the viewers are letting me grow,” she said at the time. “They’re not pinpointing me and caging me into this ‘Crazy Kristen’ narrative that was [shown on] Vanderpump Rules throughout my twenties and thirties.”
Doute was on Vanderpump Rules from 2013 to 2020 before joining the cast of The Valley, which premiered earlier this year. She also spoke with Us last month about her journey to become a mom.
“Everything’s going well,” she said at the time. “We’re pumping me full of hormones and crossing our fingers and toes — and we both are pretty optimistic that we’re going to get that golden egg this time around.”
