The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay went from Bad Mormon to Good Time Girl — and she’s not holding back in her second book.
Heather, 50, was given the title “good time girl” by costar Lisa Barlow during the first season of RHOSLC, and now, the Bravo star is making the moniker her own. In her forthcoming book, aptly titled Good Time Girl — set to be released on Tuesday, December 3 — Heather shared hilarious anecdotes about growing up Mormon and her past marriage. The reality star also offered a behind-the-scenes look at the RHOSLC season 4 finale, and what it was like to unmask Monica Garcia as Reality Von Tease.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive excerpt from Heather’s final chapter (titled “Receipts! Proof! Timeline! Screenshots!”), she breaks down the apparent timeline of how Monica went from being in Jen Shah’s inner circle to Reality Von Tease (the Instagram account that shared gossip about the show’s cast). At one point Heather even alleges that Jen’s husband, Sharrieff Shah, tried to kiss Monica. She does not, however, reveal how she got this information. Us Weekly has reached out to Jen and Sharrieff’s team for comment. Monica, for her part, issued a statement to Us in response to the book’s claims.
“It’s truly sad and worrisome that Heather Gay has nothing else to write about than twisted and false allegations in a desperate attempt to try and tarnish the reputations of two families,” Garcia’s statement reads. “The lies told about me by Heather continue to reach new lows and the only fantasies happening here are the ones she’s concocting in her book. To clarify, I have never said that Sharrieff Shah and I kissed nor has there ever been anything romantic or physical between Sharrieff and I. To so carelessly write such untrue and damaging allegations in permanent ink at the expense of others for financial gain is deplorable. There is a reason why [former Housewives producer] Carlos King dubbed Heather Gay the most dangerous housewife.”

But the demands from Jen were slowly increasing, and the charm and appreciation she usually felt was wearing thin. By the time Monica was running through the airport to meet up with Lisa, she was finally over it. The lunches and shopping and hand-me-down bags weren’t enough to make up for the amount of time she was spending away from her own life. She deserved compensation. She stopped relying on sad stories to get money from Jen and instead charted her hours and asked for an actual paycheck. And the pushier she got, the more Jen pulled away. Jen was onto her.
She stopped including her on the Shah Squad group texts and rarely responded to her calls or text messages. The sudden silence was deafening and Monica began to spiral. Did Jen need her to drop by today? “What’s the plan? I’m available” Nothing seemed to work. This added insult to injury. She wasn’t getting paid and now she was definitely getting ghosted. Monica was in a tailspin. Where had all the sympathy for her and her family gone? Weren’t they friends? How could you do this to me … question mark.
In a final Hail Mary attempt for a handout she reached out to Jen’s husband Sharrieff. Supposedly, they agreed to meet up in the parking lot of a gas station and, according to Monica, the exchange quickly turned romantic. She claims he tried to kiss her, but she pushed him off, saying, “We can’t.” Sharrieff got out of the car and immediately left. But no one believed her. She was getting desperate and was known for cranking up the delusion when cornered. By all accounts, she had been pining for Sharrieff from the moment she met him, and this was one of her absurd fantasies. Still, she swore that they had kissed, but nothing more had happened between them after that night. She was notoriously full of lies. With Sharrieff unable to help her, Monica was being forced to accept that her run with the Shahs was over. Like with any good con, you need to know when the gig is up and she knew it. Her husband was living across state lines, her baby blanket business was dwindling, and Jen was pulling the plug on their “friendship” all before filming for season 2 even began. She was beside herself with rage, like a knockoff Regina George realizing she’d been eating high-calorie Kalteen bars instead of diet meal replacements. She was angry-spitting and wailing and gnashing-of-teeth angry-and she wasn’t going to take it lying down.
She began hatching her revenge. She had had enough of watching Jen’s popularity grow while she was being depleted. By now, Jen’s presence on the show and on social media had made her a bona fide villain with influence and fame, and she wasn’t sharing any of it with Monica. If she wasn’t going to have the perks of being famous, then Jen wasn’t either. She decided to expose her. She would take Jen Shah down and make her suffer while she did it.
It was in this fit of anger that Reality Von Tease was born.
